Despite having been on the water on an a regular basis this winter I'm still feeling somewhat lacking in paddle ready fitness. With all sorts of goals set for the year ahead including a trip to Alaska, I feel some sort of training regime is in order which may well includes a weekly trip to the gym. Now this is not something I usually go for but the benefits are clear, if I stick with it that is. However, as the clip above parodies the dangers of, the one device I'll not be using is the running machine!

Alaska - work or pleasure?
Why not try swimming as well as the gym - it's non weight bearing, great whole body stretch/work out and you just never know when you might need it as a skill? I much prefer the swimming pool to the confines of fusty, sweaty gym!
Alaska will be a working trip with the intention to stay out and do stuff for myself
Swimming is indeed a beneficail and low stress activity which is why I quite like the gym in Bangor. It has all the apparatus of torture and then there's the pool and hot tub as a reward to relax my weary muscles
