Using these three factors alongside various reflection types “an individual can apply what they have learned, into practice” (Roffey-Borentsen and Malthouse, 2009: 24)Paul Christiansonnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6229165120605701126.post-52642636192272036752011-04-10T11:45:16.008-06:002011-04-10T11:45:16.008-06:00Taylor (2006: 15-6) lists three types of reflectio...Taylor (2006: 15-6) lists three types of reflection; practical reflection, technical reflection and emancipatory reflection. Practical reflection refers to “improving the way you communicate with other people, thereby improving practice enjoyment and outcomes, by encouraging a systematic questioning process”. Technical reflection uses “systematic questioning” and “coherent argumentation and revision” to make policies and procedures better. It requires knowledge and skills of critical thinking to give well argued support to any adaptations to practice. Emancipatory reflection reveals taken-for-granted assumptions which can limit the chances of achieving goals. It helps locate the roots of the problem, and then allows the issues to be addressed.Simon Martindalenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6229165120605701126.post-44119059481045432007-03-15T19:17:00.000-06:002007-03-15T19:17:00.000-06:00Well said, Mark.I enjoy your articles that provoke...Well said, Mark.

I enjoy your articles that provoke thought.Wendy Killoranhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09012606422356016996noreply@blogger.com
